Writing Done Right: Effective Blogging

We recently posted about the business reason for why companies blog. Here are our tips on how to do this effectively.

1. Keep it simple.

State your idea concisely, and offer advice from your own perspective. Write with a universal audience in mind, so that anyone can understand it (e.g. omit jargon, technical language, etc.). You can’t be completely original, so we don’t recommend the attempt to do so.

2. Make it relevant.

Give them something that they can actually use. This will build your credibility and influence. Moreover, most readers don’t have the time, or the interest for anything else.

3. Stick to your theme.

You probably have 100 great ideas for a blog. Pick one, and write one at a time.

4. Invite your readers to engage.

While credibility and influence are quite valuable, they do not directly make you money. At the end of each post, invite your readers to connect with your business, and see what products or services could work for them.

5. Publish regularly.

SEO rankings depend on time. At whatever interval determined by an expert or your business, publish blog posts with the above characteristics to cultivate relevancy and high SEO rankings for your business. There’s more than money on the line.
